Many, but not all, of the resources are local to the Twin Cities.   • Al-Anon – Al-Anon and Alateen members are people who have been affected by someone else’s drinking.
  • Alcoholics Anonymous
  • Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation – Alcohol and Drug Treatment in Minnesota
  • Narcotics Anonymous MN Region
  • Neighborhood Health Source – a group of non-profit primary care clinics serving North and Northeast Minneapolis and the northern suburbs.
  • SAMHSA – Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. SAMHSA’s National Helpline is a free and confidential 24/7, 365, treatment referral and information service for individuals and families facing mental health and/or substance use disorders

Legal Resources

  • Alexandra House – provides domestic, sexual, and relationship violence services to women, men, youth, and families. All services are free of charge and include 24 hour emergency shelter, legal advocacy, support groups, housing and supportive services, youth intervention and prevention services, elder abuse services, community education and professional training, and more
  • Immigrant Law Center – provides free brief legal advice and full representation to immigrants and refugees in MN who qualify for services
  • Minnesota Judicial Branch Self-Help Centers – help you find helpful information, services, and resources about your legal problem if you are not represented by an attorney. The Self-Help centers assist people who represent themselves in the Minnesota District Courts
  • Volunteer Lawyers Network – Provides civil legal services to low-income Minnesotans through volunteer attorneys. VLN’s mission is to protect and promote the basic human needs of people in poverty through the power of legal volunteers
