Eligibility Requirements:

• The applicant must be a senior in a Minnesota public or private high school, or have senior-level equivalency in a home school program, for the year he/she is applying
• The applicant must have a minimum high school cumulative GPA of 3.0 and be in good academic standing with their institution. An applicant must meet with the Dunwoody PSEO Coordinator (either virtually or in-person) prior to submitting their application to determine eligibility for the program.

• Student/Applicant must have an official copy of their high school transcript sent to Dunwoody.

Yes. For Fall enrollment, May 30 of the student’s sophomore or junior year of high school. For Spring enrollment, Nov. 1 of their junior or senior year of high school.

Note: For Computers NOW! the applicant must be entering their senior year in Fall 2026 at a Minnesota public or private high school, or have senior-level equivalency in a home school program, for the year he/she is applying.

Accepted participants will be notified via mail and given their required Orientation date. PSEO students attend the same orientation as all admitted students.

Proof of immunization against measles, mumps, rubella, tetanus, diphtheria and meningitis are required by state law of all postsecondary students Minn. Stat. 2006, Section 135A.14. Applicants will receive an immunization form with their enrollment agreement; the completed form should be turned in before or during orientation.

Some Core Curriculum classes may be offered online. Core computer courses will all be offered in-person.

It varies based on the student’s remaining high school requirements and future academic plans. Typically PSEO students take between one and four courses per semester and courses average 2-4 credits each.

For the Computers NOW! pathway, students would take 15 credits during their first semester and 14 credits during their second semester.

Students who don’t earn a passing grade in a PSEO class have the option to retake that course at no cost. Students who fail a course may be restricted from future Dunwoody courses and if they choose to continue at Dunwoody after graduation, they may be required to complete a Satisfactory Academic Progress plan. Notification of the failing grade will be provided to the high school counselor.

While most PSEO students enroll in general education classes that are needed to complete their high school graduation requirements or are required for the program they choose to major in, the Computers NOW! PSEO Pathway is structured to allow students to begin their first two semesters of a Computer Technology degree. This means, students accepted in the program will be taking both general education and Computer Technology specific courses as part of their academic plan.

Once admitted the students will work with the Registrar’s Office to enroll in their first semester courses and any subsequent semesters as a PSEO student.

No. PSEO courses are free, with no cost to the student, including tuition, books, and fees.

PSEO students are not eligible for federal, state, or college financial aid; including emergency loans, Dunwoody grants, and similar monies. This also means that a PSEO student is not work-study eligible; and not eligible to pursue on-campus employment opportunities.

Books are obtained by the PSEO student after meeting with the PSEO Coordinator at New Student Days. Books issued to PSEO students are free, but remain the property of Dunwoody and therefore must be returned to the College at the end of each semester.

Students may be charged for equipment that becomes their property when the course or program is completed, or books that are not returned to the postsecondary institution in a timely manner.

All Dunwoody students are issued laptops for use during the semester and must be returned to the IT Department at the end of their last PSEO semester and over the summer for students who plan to return for the next academic year.

Books cannot be returned to the Bookstore and are not eligible for book buy-back refunds. Books and course materials not returned within 10 days following the end of a given semester will be billed to the PSEO student. Dunwoody does not expect any PSEO student to incur such costs; charges are only applied if Dunwoody property is not returned in a timely manner.

Yes, students will need to notify their high school counselor by May 30 of their junior year. The high school counselor will direct them to complete the Notice of Student Registration Form, which is part of the admissions process.
