Financial Aid Office

The Financial Aid Office helps bridge the gap between what students and their family can pay and what it costs to attend Dunwoody. Most Dunwoody students receive some form of financial aid, including federal and state grants, federal loans, and work study.

The Financial Aid Team is here to work with you directly on creating your plan for paying for college.

Track Your Financial Aid

Financial Aid Portal

Dunwoody uses email as well as a financial aid portal called Net Partner to communicate to Dunwoody students about financial aid.

When a financial aid offer is generated and ready to view, students will receive an email to their Dunwoody email address.

Students are then responsible for viewing their online account to determine if the Financial Aid Office needs any further documentation to finalize the award offer and to accept/decline their award.

Dunwoody email is the official communication method for Dunwoody and no paper award offers will be mailed to students. Failure to review and award offer or missing documentation does not constitute a valid reason for not paying a tuition bill on time.

To access the Financial Aid Portal (Net Partner):

  • Go to launchpad.dunwoody.edu
  • Log in using your Dunwoody username and password.
  • Click on the icon titled “Student Financial Aid”
  • Dunwoody’s financial aid portal Net Partner will then load, and you’ll be able to view your financial aid documents.

Class Credit and Financial Aid Impact

Your total credits per semester affects your financial aid. You are encouraged to look at your schedule to determine what kind of student you are and how it impacts any financial aid you receive.

Quick glance:

  • Full-time student is someone taking 12 credits or more.
  • A 3/4-time student is someone taking 9-11 credits.
  • A half-time student is someone taking 6-8 credits.

If you are taking less than 6 credits, you are considered a less-than-half-time student. Less-than-half-time students are not eligible for loans and it may affect their grant eligibility.

AWARD NOTIFICATION

The award notification shows the total financial aid package available, including any grants (federal, state, and college) or scholarships, available federal loans, work-study funds, etc. You will also receive information that explains the costs to attend college (including tuition and fees, cost of living, etc.).

The award notification is available via Dunwoody’s financial aid portal Net Partner (log in to Launchpad using your Dunwoody account info and click on the “Student Financial Aid” icon). A link to access it will be emailed to new and continuing students at the beginning of April for the following academic year–or a few weeks after you are accepted to the College if you applied in April or after.

For new students, once you are accepted to the College, you will receive a Dunwoody email address and instructions on how to access Dunwoody’s financial aid portal Net Partner.

The EFC is a number that is used to determine a student’s eligibility for federal student aid. This number is a result of the FAFSA and is reported on the Student Aid Report (SAR).

FAFSA

The FAFSA is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. All students must complete the FAFSA to determine their eligibility for financial aid.

FINANCIAL AID

The term “financial aid” includes grants, scholarships and loans.

MASTER PROMISSORY NOTE (MPN)

A promissory note is the legal agreement a student signs with a lender accepting student loan funds. The MPN states the terms and conditions of the loan, including repayment schedule, interest rate, deferment policy, and cancellations.
