Library Services

Audiovisual/Media Support

The Learning Commons has available data projectors, digital cameras and camcorders, tripods, microphones, flip charts, SMART Board setup information, TV/DVD/VCR’s and other auxiliary A/V equipment and supplies for classroom use or for special events or presentations. Staff are also available to assist with event set-ups in the main college meeting rooms.

Reference

Reference service is available during most business hours and by appointment. The reference collections, both print and electronic, are quite extensive, and Learning Commons staff can help provide full access to any of those materials. They will also help with specific reference questions, are willing to demonstrate usage of electronic research resources, and are available to give students and faculty a tour of the Learning Commons. Student research tours and bibliographic information classes are offered each term.

Reserve

There is a designated shelf in the Learning Commons and the Design Library for “On-Reserve” items; in general, these are required and supplementary course materials designated by faculty and available to authorized students. On-reserve items are for use in the library only or have limited checkout. Arts & Sciences curriculum materials are also available in Reserve.

Testing

Both libraries provide a drop-off service for instructors who need to do make-up testing. Completed tests are collected, and/or computer support is provided.

Kanopy Streaming Video

Kanopy is an on-demand streaming video service for public libraries and educational institutions that provides library patrons, students, and faculty access to a large collection of films. Click to view available videos.

Note: you do not need to use login credentials if you are on-campus. Off-campus access to Kanopy is available by connecting to the Dunwoody VPN (Virtual Private Network) via FortiClient.
