Measure, Map, & Model: Land Surveying Camp

Build your own mini-drone and explore the world of land surveying during a hands-on, interactive summer camp experience. Measure, map, and model an imagined future community using the latest in high-tech surveying equipment – including drones, GPS, and laser measuring.

Land Survey Camp is an exciting program created to introduce middle school students to the dynamic world of land surveying. This three-day program offers an immersive, project-based experience led by industry professionals and Dunwoody College faculty.  Campers will take home with them a mini “Surveyor’s Tool Kit” including basic tools and a mini-drone they will build during the camp.  Participants will explore ideas about property boundary lines, topography, and creating maps for future design. Participants will be able to meet with college admissions to find out about all that Dunwoody has to offer too!

  • AGES: Middle school students, grades 6-8
  • WHEN: July 15-17, 2024
  • TIME: 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Design Camp

Design Camp is an exciting pre-college program created to introduce high school students to the dynamic world of design. Experience a week of hands-on projects led by Dunwoody faculty from the School of Design. Explore ideas in architecture, interior design, and graphic design using industry tools and techniques. Explore the design process, interact with industry professionals, and take a Downtown design tour with faculty.

  • AGES: High School students, grades 9-12
  • WHEN: Aug. 5-8, 2024
  • TIME: 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Pathways to Careers (P2C)
Scholarship Program Summer Experience

Pathways To Careers LogoExplore in-demand technical career paths during this immersive, three-week summer experience aimed at preparing current high school juniors and seniors for college. Visit job sites, talk with industry partners, and complete hands-on projects in a variety of technical fields. Students interested in attending the P2C summer experience, must complete an application at dunwoody.edu/p2c.  Upon acceptance, recipients selected for the program who plan to attend Dunwoody after high school graduation, will be eligible for a scholarship of up to $10,000 a year for two years.

  • AGES: Students in grades 11 or 12 in fall 2024

Past Camps

Power Girls

Hosted at Girl Scouts River Valleys, campers practiced hands-on construction and welding and perfected their DIY skills. Dunwoody women also helped campers build two Tiny Houses.

Interior Design Camp

Hosted by Dunwoody’s Interior Design department and RSP Architects, campers studied color, materials, architectural drawing, and digital media with professional designers. Campers also visited design firms and beautiful spaces throughout the Twin Cities.
