Dunwoody students will head with their battery-electric concept vehicle to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on April 11, with the intention of pushing the boundaries of energy efficiency by once again competing in the 2023 Shell Eco-marathon.
Last year, the Dunwoody Daredevils placed second in the Prototype Battery Electric division, finishing behind Cal Poly Supermileage from California Polytechnic State University.
The current team consists of Automation & Controls Engineering Technology students; Charlie Crist, Jon Droneck, Eric Harvey, and Justin Melberg; Machine Tool Technology student Anna MacLean; and Welding and Engineering Drafting & Design student Thomas Kay.
The Daredevils will be led by team captain Crist. The vehicle will be driven by MacLean, who worked on the frame’s fabrication.
