Dunwoody Manufacturing Department Recognized for Excellence in Training & Education

Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal announces 2024 Minnesota Manufacturing Awards

Dunwoody College of Technology, a private, not-for-profit technical college in Minneapolis, is proud to announce that it has received the 2024 Excellence in Training & Education award from the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal. Announced on July 19, Dunwoody was recognized as part of the seventh annual Minnesota Manufacturing Awards.

The 2024 awards feature 14 award categories, highlighting individual, organizational, and company efforts to “innovate and grow, with an eye toward improving processes, improving lives, and improving the environment and our impact on it.”

“We are honored to be recognized through the Minnesota Manufacturing Awards,” said Academic Dean E.J. Daigle. “Dunwoody has been training manufacturing professionals for more than 100 years and we are proud to be a part of Minnesota’s vibrant manufacturing community.”

In the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal award story, Daigle emphasized the critical need for skilled professionals in manufacturing, noting nearly 100 percent of graduates are hired in the field within six months of earning their degree.

Dunwoody’s Robotics & Manufacturing department offers 14 unique programs, in the areas of advanced manufacturing, automation, electronics, engineering, and robotics.

Dunwoody also offers innovative 2 + 2 Bachelor of Science degree programs in engineering technology — with concentrations in industrial engineering or automation and controls.

Skilled professionals are in high demand in today’s high-tech manufacturing environment. These professionals program machines to create intricate parts, relying on computer-based design and precision.

“Dunwoody’s manufacturing department has produced a long list of successful alumni. Industry leaders who have started companies, developed solutions, and improved lives through the products they produce and the people they employ,” said Dunwoody President Scott Stallman. “A big part of that success is our amazing faculty and staff whose dedication to our students and the industries they serve is second to none.”
