Dunwoody College of Technology\u2019s HVAC program<\/a> has been granted another six-year accreditation by HVAC Excellence\u2014the fourth in the program\u2019s history.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dunwoody\u2019s program initially received accreditation in 2007, which made it the first program in the region to earn that designation.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

HVAC Excellence requires that colleges go through an extensive process for each accreditation cycle, including a site visit from qualified evaluators. Founded in 1994, HVAC Excellence is an independent (non-governmental) organization, and their \u201caccreditation confirms<\/a> that an HVACR program meets established standards to prepare students for successful, entry-level careers.\u201d  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We are proud to recognize Dunwoody College of Technology as a model for technical training in the HVACR field and look forward to our ongoing partnership,\u201d said HVAC Excellence Executive Director of Accreditation James G. Crips, Ph.D., in his letter to the College announcing the results of the accreditation process.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHaving our accreditation affirmed once again is a testament to our faculty, students, alumni, the support of our industry partners, and the excellent work they all do,\u201d said Heather Stafford, Associate Dean of Construction Sciences. \u201cThe HVAC industry is crucial to the operation of the economy and the well-being of the residents of Minnesota and beyond. We want to make sure that we continue to have enough highly skilled HVACR professionals to meet those needs.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since the previous accreditation, Dunwoody faculty have worked to make sure that the HVAC curriculum keeps up with changes in the industry. They have also revamped several of the lab spaces.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The College\u2019s HVAC & Refrigeration Technology degree<\/a> focuses on heating and cooling systems for both residential and commercial sites and also includes training on design and installation of HVAC systems, which provides graduates the flexibility to go down various career paths in the industry and take on a wide variety of roles throughout their career.  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
