Despite being hesitant, Raul Solorio ’25 attended Dunwoody\u2019s Fall Career Fair during his first semester at Dunwoody. It ended up being a great decision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSince the first semester, instructors encourage students to create a resume, write cover letters, and create a LinkedIn account,\u201d he said. This support pushed him to take that first step. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the fair, he immediately connected with a construction company, Versacon, Inc., that offered him a summer internship, which eventually led to a full-time position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAfter the first semester, I knew all the construction basics, so I felt prepared to do and learn at the internship,\u201d he said. \u201cBecause of taking an internship so early and being full-time so early, I could apply everything I was learning in my classes to my job and apply my real-world knowledge to my classes.”\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
All his hard work paid off and he has already transitioned into a full-time job at another construction company, Ryan Companies. His story is just one example of how Dunwoody\u2019s commitment to connecting students and industry early pays off. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
