Scott Stallman, Ph.D., is stepping into his new role as President of Dunwoody College of Technology at an exciting time for technical education \u2013 when the demand for qualified graduates in the dynamic fields of engineering, design, and high-skilled trades continues to evolve and expand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Stallman, who has served as Provost at Dunwoody since 2021, was selected for the position back in January, and began his role July 1, following the retirement of former President Rich Wagner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As President, Stallman will lead a college focused on preparing students for great-paying careers in high-demand fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI look forward to building on Dunwoody\u2019s long history of producing work-ready, in-demand graduates,\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Stallman said. \u201cAt the same time, we will be looking to the future and exploring innovative new partnerships and opportunities that can best serve our students, the community, and industry going forward.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Stallman is committed to ensuring that students who invest in a Dunwoody education continue to see the value in their investment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOne of the things that drew me to Dunwoody was its commitment to investing in programs that are setting our students up for financial and career success upon graduating,\u201d he said. \u201cThat will continue to be a priority during my presidency. We will continue to refine our programs to align with the changing job market.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
An Inauguration for President Stallman will be held this September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Stallman brings more than two decades of experience leading academic programs at several higher education institutions in Missouri, Illinois, and Texas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He has an established track record of collaborating with faculty to strengthen relationships with employers, developing new business and industry partnerships, building academic programs, and increasing student enrollment and success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Stallman earned his Bachelor\u2019s degree at the University of Missouri \u2013 Columbia, his Master\u2019s degree in Adult and Higher Education Administration at the University of Missouri-St. Louis, and his Doctorate in Higher Education Administration at Illinois State University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He is an Aspen Presidential Fellow in the 2019-2020 cohort, a program that seeks to prepare the next generation of higher education leaders. Stallman was one of 40 educators from across the country chosen to participate in the program that year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As the next President, Stallman inherits an institution that has been transformed over the past decade through an enhanced physical space, leading-edge academic programming, excellent fiscal management, and strong external partnerships. Stallman will be charged with enhancing and evolving the College\u2019s current vision and trajectory while infusing new ideas to sustain Dunwoody\u2019s reputation as a leader in technical education. He will ensure relevant academic programs, support a culture of equity, steward the College\u2019s finances, create opportunities for engagement with industry and community, and continue the success of fundraising on behalf of Dunwoody. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
