Dunwoody students will head with their battery-electric concept vehicle to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on April 11, with the intention of pushing the boundaries of energy efficiency by once again competing in the 2023 Shell Eco-marathon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last year, the Dunwoody Daredevils placed second in the Prototype Battery Electric division, finishing behind Cal Poly Supermileage from California Polytechnic State University. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The current team consists of Automation & Controls Engineering Technology students; Charlie Crist, Jon Droneck, Eric Harvey, and Justin Melberg; Machine Tool Technology student Anna MacLean; and Welding and Engineering Drafting & Design student Thomas Kay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Daredevils will be led by team captain Crist. The vehicle will be driven by MacLean, who worked on the frame\u2019s fabrication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The competition, which is in its 38th<\/sup> year, allows students from all over the world to choose to compete in a variety of energy options and materials to best test their idea of energy efficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
