Industrial Engineering Technology Degree Program Receives Renewed Accreditation<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Dunwoody College of Technology<\/a>, a private, non-profit institution and pioneer in technical education, today announces that the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET has accredited the College\u2019s Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cABET accreditation is the gold standard for college and university engineering programs,\u201d said Dunwoody President Rich Wagner, Ph.D. \u201cWe are extremely proud to join the elite list of schools that have earned this designation.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n

In addition to the initial accreditation of the Mechanical Engineering program, the College was notified that it received renewed ABET accreditation for its Industrial Engineering Technology degree program. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

ABET Accreditation Adds Value<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Sought worldwide, ABET<\/a>\u2019s voluntary peer-review process is highly respected because it adds critical value to academic programs in the technical disciplines, where quality, precision, and safety are of the utmost importance. Developed by technical professionals from ABET\u2019s member societies, ABET criteria focus on what students experience and learn. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

ABET accreditation reviews look at program curricula, faculty, facilities, and institutional support and are conducted by teams of highly skilled professionals from industry, academia and government, with expertise in the program discipline. ABET Accreditation also makes it easier for graduates to earn Professional Engineering Licensure.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Engineering Graduates at Dunwoody Sought After by Industry<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n

Dunwoody\u2019s Mechanical Engineering degree<\/a> is a four-year, professional undergraduate degree, which prepares graduates for careers in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, transportation, and quality control\/testing. The program provides project-based learning that is focused on hands-on creation and problem solving.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dunwoody\u2019s Industrial Engineering Technology degree<\/a> is a Bachelor of Science completion degree, which prepares graduates to work as manufacturing engineers, industrial engineers, and quality engineers. Coursework is project-integrated and focuses on the processes and systems that lead to more efficient, higher-quality manufacturing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For students, earning a degree from an accredited engineering program means that the educational experience meets global standards for technical education in their profession. It can also enhance employment opportunities, as many multinational corporations require graduation from an ABET  accredited program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
