{"id":6264,"date":"2022-04-13T16:19:46","date_gmt":"2022-04-13T21:19:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dunwoody.edu\/news\/?p=6264"},"modified":"2022-04-13T16:19:47","modified_gmt":"2022-04-13T21:19:47","slug":"explore-pathways-to-a-career-in-engineering","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dunwoody.edu\/news\/2022\/explore-pathways-to-a-career-in-engineering\/","title":{"rendered":"Explore pathways to a career in engineering"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Information night will give future engineering students a chance to meet with engineers from a wide range of fields<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>For many future engineering students, choosing the right degree path can be confusing, especially when deciding between majors that may seem similar like Computer and Software engineering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Helping students understand those differences and navigate the right path from college to career is the goal behind a new event at Dunwoody later this month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The College will be hosting an Engineering Info Night from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Friday, April 29. The \u201cSo You Want to be an Engineer?\u201d event will be a chance to meet engineers from a wide variety of fields and ask questions about careers and degree options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An open-house style event, prospective students and their guests can drop in for informal meet and greets with engineers who have worked in sectors ranging from aerospace to medical. There will also be an opportunity to explore Dunwoody\u2019s new Center for Engineering Excellence and see first-hand the hands-on projects current students are working on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe want this event to be an opportunity &nbsp;to help future engineers navigate the education landscape,\u201d said School of Engineering Dean Bill Hudson. \u201cWe know that it can be confusing, so we wanted to make it easy and comfortable for people to ask questions of those who have been in the same position.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anyone interested in attending can register online at <a href=\"https:\/\/dunwoody.edu\/engnight\">dunwoody.edu\/engnight<\/a>. The event will take place at the Center for Engineering Excellence on the Dunwoody campus, 818 Dunwoody Blvd, Minneapolis. Refreshments will be served.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>About Dunwoody\u2019s School of Engineering<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Dunwoody offers four-year, Bachelor of Science degrees in Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, and Software engineering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Coursework is project-integrated and experienced through hands-on creation and problem-solving. Unlike traditional engineering programs, at Dunwoody your engineering education begins your first semester.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students benefit from small-class sizes, both in their major, general education, and elective classes, and all classes are taught by experienced faculty.
