{"id":5906,"date":"2021-06-29T15:02:27","date_gmt":"2021-06-29T20:02:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dunwoody.edu\/news\/?p=5906"},"modified":"2021-06-29T15:02:28","modified_gmt":"2021-06-29T20:02:28","slug":"starting-salaries-continue-to-rise-for-dunwoody-grads","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dunwoody.edu\/news\/2021\/starting-salaries-continue-to-rise-for-dunwoody-grads\/","title":{"rendered":"Starting salaries continue to rise for Dunwoody grads"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">New Career Services report shows continued demand for technical degrees<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Even during a pandemic, Dunwoody graduates continue to be in\nhigh-demand. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dunwoody.edu\">Dunwoody College of Technology<\/a> recently released its 2019-2020 Career Services Annual Report, which outlines placement rates, job inquiries, and average salaries for students one year after graduation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The report is based on a post-graduation response rate of 95\npercent from former students regarding their career activities after receiving\ntheir diploma. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the report, 95 percent of 2020 graduates were\nemployed in their field of study or continued their education within six months\nof graduating. And the good news doesn\u2019t stop there. The average salary was\n$53,700, an increase of nearly $5,000 over the year prior. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhat this data demonstrates is that the need for skilled\nworkers in essential fields like manufacturing, engineering, automotive,\ncomputers, and construction continues to be strong \u2013 even when many industries\nwere shuttered or reduced during a global crisis,\u201d said Career Services\nDirector Rob Borchardt. \u201cI think this should give future students even more\nconfidence in choosing a technical degree.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Inquiries Per Grad Still Trending High<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The number of job inquiries per graduate was another strong indicator of high-demand, coming in at 13.7 per graduate for 2019-2020. In fact, 935 companies posted more than 6,500 job openings with Dunwoody\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/dunwoody.edu\/campus-life\/campus-services\/career-services\/\">Anthony L. Ferrara Career Services Center<\/a>, which provides life-time career placement support for graduates. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dunwoody.edu\/automotive\/\">Automotive<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/dunwoody.edu\/business\/\">Business Management<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/dunwoody.edu\/radtech\/\">Radiologic Technology<\/a>, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/dunwoody.edu\/engineering\/\">School of Engineering<\/a> each saw 100 percent placement with graduates from their departments at all program and degree levels. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dunwoody.edu\/manufacturing\/\">Robotics &amp; Manufacturing<\/a> programs averaged a job placement rate of 99 percent and <a href=\"https:\/\/dunwoody.edu\/construction\/\">Construction Sciences<\/a> reported a 95 percent placement rate. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDunwoody students continue to outpace their counterparts at other two- and four-year institutions in terms of placement and salary,\u201d Borchardt said. \u201cThe College has a long, and successful track record of partnering with industry, and the success of our graduates is proof that Dunwoody students are often employers first choice.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>About Dunwoody\nCollege of Technology<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Founded in 1914, Dunwoody College of Technology is the only\nprivate, not-for-profit technical college in the Upper Midwest.
