These\nsystems are used to control modern manufacturing facilities, power generating\nplants, building automation systems, and even automobile traffic patterns. With a degree in Automation &amp; Controls Engineering\nTechnology, graduates will excel at engineering and managerial positions that\nfocus on designing, implementing, testing and trouble-shooting even the most\ncomplex automated systems.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cNow more than ever,\nknowledge of automation technology has become pivotal to manufacturing\ncompanies who are looking for workers with the technical and business skills to\nhelp them stay ahead of the pack,\u201d said E.J. Daigle, Dean of Robotics &amp;\nManufacturing at Dunwoody. \u201cWe\u2019re excited to bring this program to Dunwoody\nstudents who have the curiosity and willingness to experiment, giving them a\ncompetitive advantage in today\u2019s workforce.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dunwoody\u2019s lab spaces feature\nstate-of-the-art equipment, much of it donated by industry partners like Rockwell\nAutomation, Cognex, FANUC, and Zeiss. &nbsp;Instructors have industry experience and professional\ncertifications and work closely with industry leaders to make sure curriculum\nand equipment aligns with the current and future state of manufacturing.\nStudents gain real, hands-on experience and graduate with the skills and\nknowledge needed to be leaders in their field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Automation &amp;\nControls Engineering Technology is the latest addition to the College\u2019s\nexisting Robotics &amp; Manufacturing programs, which continue to prepare\nstudents for a wide variety of design, technology, and engineering positions,\ncreating high-precision, high-quality products across a range of industries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The four-semester\nprogram consists of all-evening courses taught in a lecture and lab format,\ndesigned for working professionals who have a two-year degree in electrical\nmaintenance, electronics, mechatronics, industrial controls or robotics. Students without a two-year degree who are\ninterested in the most direct path to this program should apply to Dunwoody\u2019s\nAutomated Systems &amp; Robotics or Industrial Controls &amp; Robotics\nprograms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The curriculum will\nfocus on advanced topics that range across the various disciplines, including electrical design, PLC (programmable\nlogic controller) applications, robotics, motors, machine vision, auto-guided\nvehicles and factory automation. Hands-on projects, including an industry-specific capstone,\nwill give students direct experience applying what they learn.
