Opening Ceremony at Dunwoody will feature Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Dunwoody College of Technology is once again proud to be a\npart of Women in Construction Week, presented by the National Association of\nWomen in Construction (NAWIC) Minnesota.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Held March 1-7, 2020, the week-long celebration provides an\nopportunity to share appreciation, celebrate diversity, and facilitate\nconnections in industry. Events include discussion panels featuring women in\nindustry, networking and mentoring opportunities, professional development\nsessions, and hand-on volunteer projects. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year\u2019s Women in Construction Week will kick-off here at\nDunwoody with an Opening Ceremony featuring Minnesota\u2019s Lieutenant Governor\nPeggy Flanagan on Monday, March 2. The Lieutenant Governor will present an\nofficial proclamation at 8:45 a.m. declaring Women in Construction Week here in\nMinnesota. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cConnecting Girls to\nConstruction: A panel discussion with the Girl Scouts\u201d<\/strong> will take place\nbefore the proclamation presentation at 8 a.m. and feature current students,\nyoung and established professionals along with members of the Girl Scouts River\nValleys who are interested in pursuing careers in architecture, engineering, or\nconstruction. Come here how their drive to change the world will help mold the\nfuture of the industry. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Co-hosted by Veit & Company, Girl Scouts River Valleys,\nand NAWIC Minnesota, the Girl Scouts will also share their experiences with the\nPower Girls summer construction camp. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Later in the week, Dunwoody will hold another panel\ndiscussion here on campus. Hosted by WINECA-TC, \u201cConversations in Construction: A Woman\u2019s Perspective,\u201d<\/strong> the event\nwill be held from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Program Manager and Master Electrician Polly Friendshuh will\njoin the interactive panel discussion as they discuss trending topics in the\nconstruction industry from a woman\u2019s perspective. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
