The Great Minnesota Get-Together kicks off today. And this\nyear, with a simple push of a button fairgoers can help answer the age-old\nquestions: Pronto Pup or Corn Dog?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To express their preference fairgoers can stop by Dunwoody\u2019s\nbooth in the Education Building, make their decision, and a FANUC industrial\nrobotic arm will register their vote and dispense a Team Pronto Pup or Team\nCorn Dog pin button so they can proudly display their choice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students and faculty in the Robotics & Manufacturing\nDepartment<\/a> programmed the industrial robot and designed and 3D-printed a\nspecial tray to hold the pins. . <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tracking component will display the results of the\n\u201cvoting\u201d and totals will be reported through Dunwoody\u2019s social media accounts.\nFollow Dunwoody to see the results: Facebook<\/a> | Instagram<\/a> | Twitter<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Pronto Pup vs. Corn Dog contest is a fun way for\nvisitors to interact with some of the latest in robotics and automation, which\nis being taught at the College. Dunwoody students in programs such as Automated\nSystems & Robotics, Industrial Controls, Industrial Controls &\nRobotics, and Industrial Engineering Technology learn the skills needed to\nprogram and operate these high-tech machines for a wide variety of functions\nand uses in industry. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
