Those, plus the water-cooling system, will keep the computer from overheating when playing graphically demanding video games.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>A group of six <a href=\"http:\/\/dunwoody.edu\/computer\/\">Computer Technology<\/a> students volunteered on a Saturday last month to grant a wish for a teenager with a critical illness by building him a high-end gaming desktop. The effort was coordinated by <a href=\"http:\/\/mn.wish.org\/\">Make-A-Wish Minnesota<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In order to maximize the computing power, Dunwoody students and faculty sourced individual components for the desktop. The students guided the wish recipient through the assembly of the computer, which included the installation and configuration of Windows 10 Pro.<\/p>\n<p>The desktop build included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Intel Core i7 7800X X-series Processor (water cooled)<\/li>\n<li>16GB RAM<\/li>\n<li>GTX1070 Graphics card (8GB DDR5)<\/li>\n<li>250GB SSD<\/li>\n<li>4TB Hard Drive<\/li>\n<li>1000 watt power supply<\/li>\n<li>CORSAIR Gaming K95 RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard<\/li>\n<li>CORSAIR &#8211; M65 PRO RGB Optical Gaming Mouse<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All students in Dunwoody\u2019s Computer Technology degree programs\u2014including\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/dunwoody.edu\/computer\/networking-systems\/\">Computer Networking Systems<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/dunwoody.edu\/computer\/web-programming\/\">Web Programming &amp; Database Development<\/a>\u2014take a course their first semester that introduces them to the basics of computer systems, including hardware and operating systems.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dunwoody partners with Make-A-Wish Minnesota A group of six Computer Technology students volunteered on a Saturday last month to grant a wish for a teenager with a critical illness by building him a high-end gaming desktop.
