{"id":1380,"date":"2015-06-23T12:16:45","date_gmt":"2015-06-23T17:16:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.dunwoody.edu\/blog\/?p=1380"},"modified":"2015-08-19T15:18:52","modified_gmt":"2015-08-19T20:18:52","slug":"automotive-collision-repair-refinishing-student-surprised-with-tool-grant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dunwoody.edu\/news\/2015\/automotive-collision-repair-refinishing-student-surprised-with-tool-grant\/","title":{"rendered":"Automotive Collision Repair &#038; Refinishing Student Surprised with Tool Grant"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Earlier this spring, ABRA Auto Body partnered with the Collision Repair Education Foundation (CREF) and awarded 10 collision repair students with tool grants.<\/p>\n<p>With the help of Automotive Collision Repair &amp; Refinishing Principal Instructor Bruce Graffunder, Dunwoody student Anthony Pung learned he was one of those students during a class lecture:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Dunwoody student wins Collision Repair Education Foundation Tool Grant\" width=\"580\" height=\"326\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/8l5XVZHK8K8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The grant\u2014open to high school seniors and\/or post-secondary students studying collision repair\u2014provided the winning students with the opportunity to select $2,000 worth of Snap-On tools and equipment from a list of entry-level body tools.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1381\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1381\" style=\"width: 400px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/dunwoody.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/IMG_10711-smal.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1381 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/dunwoody.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/IMG_10711-smal.jpg\" alt=\"Anthony smiling after receiving tools from ABRA representatives \" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dunwoody.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/IMG_10711-smal.jpg 400w, https:\/\/dunwoody.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/IMG_10711-smal-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1381\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">A few weeks after learning he was a grant winner, Anthony was able to meet representatives from ABRA and select his desired tools.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe grant will make a huge difference in my life by providing me with the tools that I need to be successful in my career path,\u201d said Anthony.<\/p>\n<p>Anthony is currently an intern at Albertville Body Shop where he is learning and performing a wide variety of collision repair practices.
