A 30-year veteran of the automotive industry, Karl Schmidt will share the leadership lessons he’s learned along the way.

About the speaker:

Karl Schmidt has been in the automotive industry for 30 years, and has been the Chief Executive Officer of Morrie’s Automotive Group since 2013. He held the position of COO for the group in the years prior to that, starting in 2008. In 2016, Schmidt purchased Morrie’s Automotive Group along with Fremont Private Holdings, positioning the group for financial stability, investment, and growth.

Schmidt’s leadership has been instrumental to the success of Morrie’s Automotive Group. Under his tenure, the group has enjoyed years of consistent financial growth.

Schmidt’s involvement in charitable causes and other initiatives create a strong bond between the Morrie’s organization and the local community. Under his leadership, the Morrie’s Automotive Group grew its involvement in a number of charities. Other initiatives designed to build strong ties with local communities include a teen safe driving program sponsored by the group and monthly car enthusiast events (“Cars & Coffee”).

About the First Thursday Jackson Leadership Lecture Series:

Hosted by the Dunwoody Alumni Association, the Jackson Leadership Lecture series is a breakfast lecture featuring key executives from the business community speaking about a range of leadership topics. It is held the first Thursday of the month for alumni, friends, and students of Dunwoody.
